Job Description

Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients improve their motor skills, mobility, and daily living activities. Your primary role will be to implement therapy programs, provide support to patients during therapy sessions, and assist in evaluating progress.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Implement therapy programs as directed by the occupational therapist

- Provide support and assistance to patients during therapy sessions

- Monitor and document patient progress

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals

- Ensure equipment and treatment areas are clean and organized

- Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop treatment plans

- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing and grooming

- Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities and techniques

Qualifications and Skills:

- Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program

- Must hold a valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Knowledge of therapy techniques and equipment

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
