Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients who have physical, developmental, social, or emotional challenges. Your role will involve assisting individuals with improving their ability to perform daily activities and achieve independence in their personal and professional lives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work alongside occupational therapists to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
2. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their motor skills, coordination, and mobility.
3. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
4. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients as they work towards achieving their therapy goals.
5. Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies and equipment to enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
2. State licensure or certification to practice as a COTA.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare team members.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and prioritize tasks.
5. Compassion and empathy to support patients through their recovery journey.
