Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work alongside occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. You will provide direct patient care, assist in developing treatment plans, and track progress to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
2. Assist patients with exercises and activities aimed at improving motor skills, strength, and coordination.
3. Monitor and document patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
4. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercises.
5. Help patients adapt to adaptive equipment and devices.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
7. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid COTA certification and state licensure.
2. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work well in a team environment.
5. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
