Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders and cardiopulmonary conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans to improve patients' respiratory function and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting patient assessments to diagnose respiratory conditions
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Monitoring and adjusting ventilator settings
- Performing diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
- Educating patients and their families on respiratory treatment and management
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Participating in emergency response teams to provide critical care support
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures
- CPR certification
