Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients achieve their maximum level of independence in daily activities. You will assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients' functional abilities.
2. Help patients with therapeutic exercises and activities.
3. Provide training on adaptive techniques and equipment.
4. Monitor and document patients' progress.
5. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
6. Educate patients and their families on self-care techniques.
7. Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment.
8. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Valid COTA certification.
3. State licensure as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Knowledge of therapy techniques and equipment.
7. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
