Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients with physical, mental, developmental, and emotional disabilities engage in everyday activities and tasks. Your role will be crucial in facilitating patients' rehabilitation and maximizing their independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
2. Help patients improve their ability to perform daily tasks through therapeutic activities and exercises.
3. Educate patients and their families on how to carry out rehabilitation exercises at home.
4. Maintain accurate and timely patient progress reports.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
6. Keep up-to-date with current trends and advancements in occupational therapy practices.
7. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care.
