Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work alongside occupational therapists to help patients improve their quality of life by assisting with therapeutic activities. You will provide hands-on support to individuals with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses to help them develop or recover daily living and work skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in developing treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals.
2. Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination.
3. Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
4. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises to be practiced at home.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. State licensure to practice as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical or mental challenges.
