Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients in order to help them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the occupational therapist.
2. Monitor and record patient progress during therapy sessions.
3. Instruct patients in proper techniques for performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
4. Assist in the evaluation of patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
5. Communicate with patients and their families to provide education and support.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
8. Stay current on best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques.
8. Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
