Job Title: Speech Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Speech Therapist, you will work with individuals who have communication and swallowing disorders to help them improve their speech, language, and overall communication skills. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients through a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Evaluate and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
3. Provide therapy to improve speech, language, and cognitive-communication skills.
4. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, psychologists, and teachers.
5. Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies.
6. Maintain detailed records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
7. Stay current on new research and evidence-based practices in the field of speech therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
2. ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
3. Experience working with individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Knowledge of relevant assessment tools and therapeutic techniques.
7. Compassion and patience when working with patients.
