Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed physical therapist to provide hands-on care to patients recovering from injuries or illnesses. You will assist in implementing therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques to help patients improve their mobility and relieve pain.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients.
2. Supervise and guide patients through exercises and stretches.
3. Administer therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
4. Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercises to maintain their progress outside of sessions.
5. Document patient progress and communicate with the physical therapist regarding any changes or concerns.
6. Assist with the setup and maintenance of therapy equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
2. Valid state licensure/certification as a physical therapy assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
6. Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility exercises.
