Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of physical therapists to help patients recover from injuries and illnesses. Your responsibilities will include assisting with treatments, monitoring progress, and educating patients on exercises and techniques to improve their mobility and reduce pain.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in developing treatment plans for patients
2. Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the therapist
3. Monitor patients' progress and report back to the therapist
4. Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities
5. Document patient progress and keep accurate records
6. Assist with equipment setup and maintenance
7. Provide support and encouragement to patients during therapy sessions
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in physical therapy assisting
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work as part of a team
5. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
6. Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility exercises
7. Attention to detail for documenting patient progress
8. Compassion and empathy for patients going through rehabilitation
