Job Description

Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic activities and exercises. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to create treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist in conducting patient evaluations to determine their functional abilities and limitations

- Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists

- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills, balance, and coordination

- Educate patients and their families on strategies to enhance independence in daily activities

- Document patient progress and communicate with the therapy team to update treatment plans as needed

- Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment for patients

Qualifications and Skills:

- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program

- Valid COTA certification and state licensure

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care

- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and physical tasks

- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and modalities
