Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help individuals improve their everyday living skills and achieve independence in various settings. Your main responsibility will be to assist in planning and carrying out occupational therapy treatments and exercises to help patients regain their strength, improve their mobility, and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients' conditions and creating customized treatment plans.
2. Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to help patients improve their physical and mental well-being.
3. Document patients' progress and update treatment plans as needed.
4. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the therapy process.
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
6. Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from a COTA program
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or injuries
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
