Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Summary:
An Occupational Therapist works with individuals who have physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities to help them improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. They assess the client's needs, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Evaluate clients' abilities and limitations to determine personalized treatment plans.
2. Develop goals and interventions to improve clients' skills and independence in everyday activities.
3. Provide hands-on therapy and instruction in activities such as self-care, work tasks, and leisure activities.
4. Educate clients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to facilitate functioning.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
6. Document and track clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
7. Stay current on best practices and trends in occupational therapy through continuing education.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
2. State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to assess and creatively problem-solve complex client needs.
5. Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
6. Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
7. Compassion and patience in working with individuals facing challenges.
