Job Summary:
An Occupational Therapist provides rehabilitative services to individuals who have physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities. They work to help patients improve their ability to perform daily tasks and lead independent lives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve patients' ability to perform daily activities
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment to assist with daily tasks
- Help patients with activities such as dressing, bathing, and cooking
- Work with healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion and empathy for patients
