Job Description

Job title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitation services to patients with physical, developmental, or emotional impairments. Your primary goal will be to help patients develop, recover, and improve basic daily living and work skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist occupational therapists in developing treatment plans for patients.

2. Implement treatment plans by leading therapy sessions and exercises.

3. Monitor and document patient progress and outcomes.

4. Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and exercises.

5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy workspace.

7. Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines in the provision of therapy services.

8. Participate in continuing education to stay current on best practices in occupational therapy.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

3. Valid state licensure to practice as a COTA.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Strong organizational and time management abilities.

6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

7. Experience working with diverse patient populations preferred.
