Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. You will assist in developing treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and monitoring progress to maximize each patient's independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
2. Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and self-care abilities.
3. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
4. Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and strategies to promote independence and safety.
5. Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
6. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
7. Experience working with patients of all ages and abilities.
