Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help individuals improve their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence. Your main goal will be to assist patients in maximizing their physical, emotional, and social well-being through therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide direct patient care based on individualized treatment plans developed by occupational therapists.
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and strength.
- Conduct assessments and document patient progress in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for independent living.
- Maintain equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Active state licensure and registration to practice as a COTA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
