Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform daily living and work activities. You will assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and providing therapeutic interventions to help individuals regain independence and maximize their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment programs based on patients' needs and goals.
2. Provide hands-on therapy techniques to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and sensory integration.
3. Document and maintain accurate patient records and progress reports.
4. Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
5. Instruct patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and activities to promote independence.
6. Assist in evaluating patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
7. Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment.
8. Stay up-to-date on best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
2. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
3. State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Compassion and empathy towards patients with diverse needs.
7. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with mobility and activities of daily living.
