Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitation services to patients with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities. Your role will involve implementing customized treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and guiding patients through activities to improve their daily living skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in assessing patients' needs and developing treatment plans.
2. Work with patients to improve their fine motor skills, coordination, and mobility.
3. Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to help patients regain independence.
4. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
5. Educate patients and their families on how to perform activities of daily living.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
8. Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure to practice as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical and emotional challenges.
7. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
8. Ability to adapt to different patient needs and treatment techniques.
