Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with respiratory disorders, providing respiratory care treatments, and educating patients on proper breathing techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of respiratory conditions and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform patient assessments to determine respiratory care needs
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy and aerosol medications
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
- Educate patients on the proper use of respiratory equipment and breathing techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement respiratory care plans
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in medical records
- Stay current on advancements in respiratory therapy by attending conferences and seminars
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
