Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapy Assistant assists physical therapists in providing rehabilitation services to patients experiencing pain or limitations in movement. They work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to implement treatment plans and provide therapeutic exercises to help patients recover from injuries or surgeries.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in evaluating and assessing patients' conditions
2. Create and administer therapeutic exercises and activities as directed by the therapist
3. Monitor patients' progress and report any changes to the therapist
4. Instruct patients and their families on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain
5. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment plans
6. Assist in setting up equipment and preparing treatment areas for patient sessions
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in physical therapy assisting or related field
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
3. Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and techniques
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a team setting
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
7. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed
