Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with occupational therapists to help individuals improve their ability to perform daily activities and tasks. You will assist in implementing treatment plans and provide therapeutic exercises to help clients regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assist clients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination
- Educate clients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance independence
- Monitor and document client progress to track improvements and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care for clients
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards in all aspects of practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state license to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassion and empathy for clients facing physical and emotional challenges
