Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. As a COTA, you will work closely with occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform daily living tasks and participate in meaningful activities. You will play a crucial role in implementing treatment plans and providing hands-on therapy to individuals of all ages who are recovering from injuries, disabilities, or illnesses.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating and treating patients to improve their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide hands-on therapy to help patients improve their strength, coordination, balance, and range of motion
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices to maximize their independence
- Document patient progress and communicate with therapists, physicians, and family members as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Valid state license to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
