Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help individuals of all ages improve their daily living skills, independence, and quality of life. Your primary goal will be to assist clients in achieving their therapy goals through hands-on treatment and guidance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implementing and documenting treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Assisting clients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination
- Educating clients and family members on techniques for maximizing independence and function
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and effective care
- Monitoring and reporting progress towards treatment goals
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
- Adhering to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification and registration as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassion and empathy for clients facing physical or cognitive challenges
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing occupational therapy practice
