Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or other physical ailments. They assist in implementing customized treatment plans, monitor patients' progress, and provide guidance on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and functionality.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapist in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans for patients.
2. Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities prescribed by the physical therapist.
3. Instruct and supervise patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
4. Monitor and document patients' progress and report back to the physical therapist.
5. Assist in educating patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care techniques.
6. Collaborate with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals in developing comprehensive treatment plans.
7. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
8. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards as set forth by the profession and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
6. Experience with therapeutic exercises and modalities.
7. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
