Job title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitative services to patients. They will assist in developing treatment plans, carrying out therapeutic exercises, and monitoring patient progress to promote recovery and improve mobility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in conducting physical assessments and evaluations of patients.
2. Collaborate with the physical therapist to design and implement individualized treatment plans.
3. Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination.
4. Perform modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage to help reduce pain and inflammation.
5. Document patient progress and communicate updates to the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals.
6. Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care techniques.
7. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and adhere to infection control protocols.
8. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the rehabilitation department.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. CPR certification.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
6. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
7. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
8. Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
