Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
Our healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others improve their daily living skills and achieve optimal independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating and assessing patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
2. Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists
3. Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients' motor skills and coordination
4. Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment to enhance their daily living activities
5. Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions
6. Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
7. Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve functional abilities at home
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Must have completed an accredited COTA program and hold a valid certification
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
3. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
4. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
5. Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and principles
6. Ability to adapt treatment plans based on individual patient needs
