Job title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary: As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain and improve their ability to perform daily activities. You will assist in creating and implementing treatment plans to help patients achieve their therapeutic goals and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients' conditions and needs
2. Implement treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities
3. Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
4. Monitor and document patients' progress in therapy sessions
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
6. Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving daily living skills
7. Maintain accurate and organized patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
2. Must hold a current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
5. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
6. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
7. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
