Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform everyday tasks and activities. Your role will involve implementing treatment plans, assisting with therapeutic exercises, and monitoring progress to ensure optimal outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve physical and cognitive abilities
- Provide feedback to therapists on patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families on home exercises and strategies for maximizing independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and progress in accordance with regulatory standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state license to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
