Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients develop or recover skills needed for daily living and working through therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in developing and executing treatment plans
- Work with patients to improve motor skills, mobility, and daily living activities
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families
- Document patient progress and communicate with the Occupational Therapist
- Help educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid COTA certification
- State licensure as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion and patience with patients
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
