Job title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Job Summary:
As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to help individuals of all ages improve their communication and swallowing skills. Your role will involve providing direct therapy services, assisting with assessments, and helping to develop and implement treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide individual or group therapy sessions as prescribed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
2. Assist in conducting speech and language assessments, including administering standardized tests.
3. Help develop and implement treatment plans that address communication and swallowing goals.
4. Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to track client's improvements.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to support client's needs.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and client progress.
7. Stay current on best practices and advances in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program.
2. Valid SLPA license or certification in the state of practice.
3. Previous experience working with individuals with communication disorders preferred.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Proficiency in using technology and software for therapy purposes.
7. Commitment to continuing education and professional development in the field of speech-language pathology.
