Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the guidance and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain mobility, manage pain, and improve their overall physical well-being. You will provide hands-on care to patients through various therapeutic exercises and techniques, as well as educate them on proper body mechanics and exercises they can do at home.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapist in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
- Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation
- Educate patients on proper use of assistive devices and techniques for improving mobility
- Document patient progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Communicate regularly with physical therapist and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe treatment environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages
- Detail-oriented and able to follow specific instructions from physical therapist
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility exercises
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
