Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. Your primary goal will be to assist patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining the skills they need for daily living and work.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
2. Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' motor skills, strength, and coordination.
3. Help patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, and bathing.
4. Monitor and document patient progress and communicate findings to the Occupational Therapist.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients.
6. Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving daily function and independence.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
2. Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. State licensure as a COTA in the state where you will be practicing.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
