Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with respiratory disorders, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pneumonia. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans and provide respiratory care to patients in various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting pulmonary function tests to assess lung capacity
- Administering medication and treatments to patients, such as oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments
- Monitoring and adjusting ventilator settings for patients in critical care units
- Educating patients on how to properly use and maintain respiratory equipment
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Documenting patient progress and treatment plans
- Participating in emergency response situations as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
