Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. They work closely with medical staff to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy while providing compassionate care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for radiation therapy procedures
2. Position patients for accurate treatment delivery using immobilization devices
3. Operate radiation therapy machines to deliver prescribed doses of radiation
4. Monitor patients during treatment to ensure safety and comfort
5. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
6. Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other medical professionals to develop treatment plans
7. Educate patients about radiation therapy procedures and potential side effects
8. Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
2. ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
3. State licensure as a Radiation Therapist
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care
7. Knowledge of radiation therapy equipment and procedures
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
