Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or physical disabilities. They assist in creating and implementing treatment plans to help patients regain movement, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in conducting patient evaluations and assessments
2. Implement and modify treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist
3. Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities
4. Monitor patient progress and communicate with the physical therapist
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
6. Assist with equipment setup and maintenance
7. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and at-home exercises
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
2. Certification or licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Experience working with patients with a variety of physical conditions
6. Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and techniques
7. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist with hands-on treatment
8. Commitment to continuing education and professional development
