Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help clients regain independence and improve their daily living skills. Your primary goal will be to assist in providing treatment plans and interventions to help clients reach their maximum potential in their occupation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
2. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists
3. Help clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating
4. Teach clients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
5. Document clients' progress and communicate with other healthcare professionals
6. Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients and their families
7. Keep treatment areas clean and organized
8. Assist in developing home exercise programs for clients
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
2. Must be licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work in a team environment
5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
6. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
7. Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility tasks
8. Compassion and empathy for clients facing challenges
