Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide treatment to patients with musculoskeletal injuries or conditions. The PTA assists in implementing therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques to help improve the patient's mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall function.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapist in developing treatment plans for patients
- Instruct and supervise patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities
- Administer modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold packs
- Assist patients with ambulation and functional activities
- Document patient progress and communicate with physical therapist
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Provide support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program
- Current licensure or certification as a physical therapist assistant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques
- Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with physical activities
