Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help individuals of all ages improve their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence. Your role will involve implementing individualized treatment plans, providing hands-on therapy, and documenting progress to support patients in achieving their therapy goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating patients' physical, mental, and emotional capacities.
2. Carry out therapeutic exercises and activities as prescribed by occupational therapists.
3. Monitor and record patients' progress and report findings to the supervising therapist.
4. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families in achieving rehabilitation goals.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
6. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment.
7. Stay up-to-date on best practices and continuing education in the field of occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Successful completion of an accredited COTA program and certification.
2. State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
5. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
6. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Physical strength and stamina to assist patients with mobility and exercises.
