Job title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting physical therapists in providing treatment to patients with a variety of injuries and conditions. You will work with patients to help them improve their range of motion, strength, and overall mobility through therapeutic exercises and techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients.
2. Carry out therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
3. Monitor and document patient progress and report any concerns to the supervising therapist.
4. Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to promote healing and prevent injury.
5. Assist with setting up and maintaining equipment used in therapy sessions.
6. Provide support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
2. Current certification or licensure as a physical therapy assistant in the state of practice.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
6. Basic computer skills for documenting patient progress.
