Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement and manage pain. Your primary role will be to assist in implementing customized treatment plans, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support to patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in evaluating patients' physical capabilities and limitations.
2. Implement treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities.
3. Monitor and record patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
4. Educate patients on exercises and self-care techniques to improve their overall well-being.
5. Assist patients with mobility and functional activities to improve their independence.
6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient safety.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
8. Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines in the provision of patient care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in physical therapy assisting from an accredited program.
2. Current certification or licensure as a physical therapy assistant in the state of practice.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
6. Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting is preferred.
