Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients with physical impairments or disabilities. Your primary goal will be to assist in improving patients' mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or lessening physical disabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
2. Instruct and guide patients in therapeutic exercises and activities.
3. Administer therapeutic modalities under the direction of a physical therapist.
4. Monitor patients' progress and report back to the physical therapist.
5. Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress.
6. Assist in educating patients and their families on home exercises and activities.
7. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patient care.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
2. Active license or certification as a physical therapy assistant in the state of practice.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
5. Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and exercises.
6. Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
8. Compassion and empathy for patients' needs.
