Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities. You will assist in developing treatment plans, implementing therapeutic exercises, and monitoring patient progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in carrying out treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist
2. Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities
3. Monitor and document patient progress
4. Provide support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation process
5. Assist with modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold therapy
6. Educate patients on injury prevention and self-care techniques
7. Keep track of medical supplies and equipment inventory
8. Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
6. Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with exercises
7. Attention to detail and documentation skills
8. Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation
