Job Title: Speech Therapist, COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist, COTA to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients to help improve their communication and swallowing abilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting assessments to determine the patient's speech and language needs.
2. Developing individualized treatment plans to address speech and swallowing disorders.
3. Implementing therapy sessions to improve communication skills.
4. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
5. Documenting patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
6. Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding speech therapy techniques.
7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
2. Current COTA certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. Valid state licensure to practice as a Speech Therapist, COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Prior experience working with patients with speech and swallowing disorders is preferred.
