Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life through therapeutic activities. You will assist in developing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and monitoring progress to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work closely with Occupational Therapists to assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
2. Implement therapy sessions to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
3. Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance daily living skills.
4. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of patients' progress and treatment interventions.
7. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
8. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the practice of occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
2. State licensure or certification to practice as a COTA.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques.
5. Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team environment.
6. Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical and emotional challenges.
7. Attention to detail and organization in documentation and treatment planning.
8. Willingness to continue education and professional development in the field of occupational therapy.
