Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders such as asthma, emphysema, and COPD. You will work closely with healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans that improve the respiratory function of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting patient assessments and diagnostics to determine respiratory issues
2. Developing and implementing respiratory therapy treatment plans
3. Monitoring and adjusting ventilator settings for patients in critical care units
4. Educating patients on respiratory health and proper medication usage
5. Collaborating with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
6. Administering respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy and nebulizer medications
7. Performing chest physiotherapy to help clear mucus from airways
8. Documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes
9. Responding to emergency situations and providing life-saving interventions
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
2. State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
3. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
4. CPR certification
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
7. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in patient care
9. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
