Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary: As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical, mental, emotional, or developmental impairments. Your role will involve assisting patients in developing and improving daily living skills, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
2. Conduct patient evaluations and assessments to determine their needs and progress.
3. Help patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their motor skills and independence.
4. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their treatment.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and progress reports.
6. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and family members about patient progress.
7. Monitor and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or certification to practice as a COTA.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
6. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
7. Detail-oriented and organized.
8. Ability to lift and assist patients with physical activities as needed.
