Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide quality therapy services to patients with physical, mental, or emotional challenges. Your role will involve assisting in the development and implementation of therapy plans, conducting therapy sessions, and monitoring patient progress to help them achieve their occupational therapy goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in assessing patients' physical, mental, and emotional capabilities
2. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with licensed therapists
3. Conduct therapy sessions with patients to improve their motor skills, coordination, and independence in daily activities
4. Monitor and document patient progress and communicate with therapists to adjust therapy plans as needed
5. Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to continue progress outside of therapy sessions
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
2. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
3. State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
6. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
7. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques
