Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide hands-on care and support to patients undergoing physical therapy treatment. The Physical Therapy Assistant will assist with exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and alleviate pain.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work closely with the physical therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Assist patients with exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities
- Monitor and track patients' progress and report back to the physical therapist
- Educate patients on proper techniques for performing exercises and stretches at home
- Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as directed by the physical therapist
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient treatments and progress
- Assist with patient scheduling and administrative tasks as needed
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with therapy exercises
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing physical therapy
